The Beauty Bus Journey
Beauty Bus was founded in 2009 in loving memory of Melissa Marantz Nealy, whose life was cut short at 28 by a degenerative neuromuscular disease. As Melissa became bedbound, in-home beauty services lifted her spirits and helped her feel “human again.” Inspired by that experience, her family created Beauty Bus to bring the same dignity, hope, and compassion to patients and caregivers who are unable to access or pay for salon services at their most challenging times.
Fueling Our Impact Across Los Angeles
From one home visit to more than 32,000 salon services in over 17 hospitals and care facilities across L.A. County, Beauty Bus has grown through Pop-Up Salons, weekly Beauty Series programming, brand partnerships, and an inspiring community of volunteers and supporters. With strong leadership and momentum, we continue expanding our reach and impact—bringing beauty, dignity, and compassion to more lives.
