Product Donation Guidelines

We are so grateful that you are considering a product donation to Beauty Bus. In order to ensure the safety of our most vulnerable clients, we have a few guidelines.

We only accept fresh, unopened product.

All product must be at least six months from its expiration date. We cannot accept product that is expired, swatched, opened, or used.

All product must be full size.

We do not accept single use sample foils or inserts, or products from hotels. Minimum size requirements are as follows:

  • Eye cream, serum, essence, toner — 0.2 fluid ounce

  • Moisturizer, cleanser, masks — 0.5 fluid ounce

  • Body lotion, hair care — 1 fluid ounce

  • Makeup is considered on a case-by-case basis

Clean product is important to us.

We do not accept product with the following ingredients:

Aluminum • Coal Tar Derivatives • DEA & TEA • Ethyl Acetate • Formaldehyde • Hydroquinone Mineral Oil/Petrochemicals • Octoxynols • Oxybenzone • Paragons • Phthalates • Propylene Glycol • Sodium Laureth Sulfate • Parabens

Sunscreens need to be free of these ingredients:

  • Avobenzone

  • Benzophenone-3, also know as Oxybenzone

  • Cylcopentasiloxane/Cyclomethicone

  • Formaldehyde, Diazolidinyl urea, Quaternium-15, DMDM Hydantoin and Hydroxymethylglycinate, Homosalate

  • Methylisothiazolinone

  • Microbeads

  • Nano particles

Because we can’t be everything to everyone, we do not accept the following beauty supplies:

Gel nail polish • Hair dye • Scented Sprays (perfume, parfum, cologne, body spray or mists, air fresheners) • Self-tanning products • Skin-tone or complexion specific makeup (foundation, powder, concealer)

And just in case you were wondering, we can’t take these either:

Acne Treatments • Aloe Vera Gel • Anti-Itch Creams • Beauty/Health Supplements • Blades/Sharps • Candles or Diffusers • Clothing • Dental Floss • Antiperspirant • Feminine Hygiene Products • Hair Clippers • Hotel Body Wash, Lotion, Soap, Shampoo, or Shower Caps Key Chains • Mouthwash • Nail Clippers • Patches/Pins • Prescription Strength Topicals • Razors • Shoe Cushions • Shower Caps • Shower Towelettes • Stickers • Temporary Tattoos • Teeth Whiteners • Toothbrushes • Toothpaste • Tweezers

Beauty Bus can ONLY accept product donations from Corporations.

We regret that we cannot accept any product donations from individuals.

All product must be completely sealed and at least six months from date of expiration. We cannot accept product that is expired, opened, swatched, or used.

Trial & Travel-Sized Product

  • We cannot accept donations of any single-use sample foils or inserts.

  • We cannot accept any items from hotels or other lodgings.

Additionally, we CANNOT ACCEPT donations of the following products:

Skin-toned or complexion-specific makeup products (foundation, powder, concealer)

Scented Sprays (perfume, parfum, cologne, body spray or mists, air fresheners)

Gel nail polish

Hair dye

Self-tanning products

Sunscreen containing any of the following ingredients:

  • Benzophenone-3, also know as Oxybenzone

  • Avobenzone

  • Feminine Hygiene (tampons, pads, menstrual cups, underwear, pregnancy tests)

  • Shower towelettes

  • Shower caps

  • Blades / Sharps

    • Hair/nail clippers

    • Razors

    • Tweezers

  • Pharmaceutical Products

    • Anti-Itch creams

    • Aloe vera gel

    • Acne treatments

    • Prescription-strength topicals
